Raw Hide (2025)

Porcelain and Wood
45 x 28 x 50 cm

Speeding to work, we carve a relentless path. Along it lie reminders of the privilege we exercise over the natural world, small bodies struck, dragged, or left to be picked apart by vultures circling. Raw Hide was made with this violence in mind.

Each creature wounded, crushed or abandoned on the roadside becomes collateral in our pursuit of productivity. Pecked by birds, gnawed by rodents, dissolved back into the tarmac; these were lives taken in service of a system that demands.

Raw Hide carries the scars of that legacy. It holds the texture of our material ambition. It stands as a memorial to all those lives forgotten as we hurry on ceaselessly for more.
